| - INFUSED OILS - |
|---|
Most of our salves and balms include 'infused' oils. This means we have taken whole dried herbs, like Calendula Petals, Arnica Weed or Comfrey Root, and infused them in an oil, usually Olive Oil. Then we either use glass jars in the sun, where they are hand stirred each day for about 6 weeks, or we use a slow heating method for several days to a week. This allows the herb to gently impart it's properties into the oils, without scorching or damaging the delicate botanical. We never use solvents or chemicals to extract those properties. We are respectful of the herb and the natural process, and are grateful for what they give us... when we ask politely. |
